1958 - Her first screen appearance was a brief role in The Goddess.
1962 - She has played both Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan and film adaptations of The Miracle Worker.

1963 - She landed her own series The Patty Duke Show, in which she played both the main characters.
1965 - Start a successful singing career, garnering several Top 40 hits such as "Don't Just Stand There" and "Dona Dona".
1967 - She lobbied for and landed the role of Neely O'Hara risqué Valley of the Dolls, with Sharon Tate and Barbara Parkins.
1970 - She worked in television movies and miniseries.
1971 - On the 21st of February, she gave birth to her first son, Sean. Sean was actually Michael Tell's biological son.
1972 - Actor John Astin married Duke, adopted her son and fathered her second son, Mackenzie Astin. Duke and Astin worked together extensively during their marriage. For a time, Patty Duke added Astin to her professional name.
1982 - Was diagnosed as manic-depressive, and she has said that after a couple of weeks on lithium, she felt normal for the first time in her life.
1985 - She served as President of the Screen Actors Guild.
- She and Astin divorced, and in she married drill seargent Michael Pearce, whom she met on the set of a TV movie,
1987 - Published her autobiography, Call Me Anna, and became the first celebrity to go public about the illness.
1999 - She reprised her Patty Duke Show roles as identical menopausal cousins in Still Rockin' in Brooklyn Heights.
2002 - She returned to New York to appear as "Aunt Eller" in a revival of Oklahoma.
2005 - She also returned to New York to attend a memorial service for actress and old co-star from The Miracle Worker, Anne Bancroft.
