1968 - Born on March 30th from the small town of Charlemagne, Québec, the youngest of 14 children. Céline Dion has become one of the all-time greatest singers.
1980 - She put together a demo tape of a song she had written with her mother and one of her brothers at the age of 12. The tape was submitted to Montreal-based personal manager René Angélil, who was apparently so taken with the young girl that he took out a mortgage on his house to finance the start of her career.
1990 - Dion and Angélil began to realize their goal to infiltrate the U.S. market through the arrangement of a deal with Sony and the release of the singer's first record in English, Unison.
1992 - Received Grammy's Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
1994 -Married her manager, Rene Angelil on December 17th.
1996 - She won the Grammy Best Pop Album and Grammy Album Of The Year.
1998 - She received Grammy's Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Grammy Record Of The Year.
- She was honored by two governments in two days: on April 30 her home province awarded her the Ordre national du Québec, and on May 1 she became an Officer of the Order of Canada.
- She won the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, Ireland, for Switzerland, with the song "Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi" (don't leave without me). The TV broadcast of the contest was watched by 600 million viewers throughout Europe and the Middle-East.
1999 - Celine took a break from pillaging the world and focusing instead on starting a family.
2000 - Renewed wedding vows with husband René Angelil at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 5th.
2001 - She gave birth to their son, Rene Charles Angelil on January 25th.
- Appeared at the benefit concert "A Tribute To Heroes" singing the song "God Bless America" in dedication to the families, friends, victims, & heroes of the World Trade Center tragedy on September.
2002 - She returned to the spotlight in releasing yet another hit album.
- The record A New Day Has Come was on the shelves, and the following year a three-year, five-night-a-week residency at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas was initiated, specially designed to bring extravagant concert spectacles to an all-time absurdist peak.
2003 - Céline began a three-year commitment to perform in an arena built for her in Las Vegas.
- She received a star on the Canadian Walk of Fame in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on June 25th.
