1903 – He was born on the 22nd day of June this year in Indianapolis.

 

1912 –His father remarried this year.

 

1919 – Their family moved to a farm near Mooresville.

 

1923 – After he had allegedly stolen an automobile, he joined together the Navy to run away from arrest. No charges were ever filed on the matter.

 

1924 – He met a sixteen year old Martinsville girl named Beryl Hovious and married her in April. On the same year he had been drinking, approached Morgan as he walked past the Christian Church. Armed with a .32 revolver and a bolt wrapped in a handkerchief, he hit the grocer over the head with the bolt, when Morgan fought back, he hit him again.

 

1933 – He was imprisoned, and was paroled this year. He was involved in a bank robbery one night of May in this same year. He was arrested again.

 

1934 - Bank robber and cop killer John Dillinger finally went too far. He committed a criminal act so heinous that there was even a federal law against it, ultimately prompting the FBI to hunt him down like a dog. He died on the 22nd day of July this year; he was buried at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. His gravestone is often vandalized by people removing pieces as souvenirs.
