1979 - He was also one of the contestants on the classic game show "Match Game," appearing in an episode that originally aired on the 2nd of January.

1989 - He obtained the IKEA account, for which he created a groundbreaking TV campaign that featured a gay couple shopping at the Swedish furniture emporium.

1990 - He took over his father's company when the elder Deutsch retired.

1992 - He landed one of his most high-profile gigs with Bill Clinton's run for the White House.

2000 - Sold his agency to the Interpublic Group of Companies  for a reported $300 million.

2002 - Deutsch still holds his position as company chairman and CEO, and continues to guide the firm according to his vision. In April.

2004 - Debuted his own weekly talk show on CNBC, The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch, which focuses on two of his favorite subjects: politics and pop culture.

2004 - In October, he appeared on Celebrity Poker Showdown alongside Chevy Chase and Kathy Griffin.


         - He is also the managing partner of Deutsch Open City, an independent production company.

2005 - Harper Collins published Deutsch's business motivation book, Often Wrong, Never in Doubt, written with co-author Peter Knobler.

2006 - He also had the pleasure of judging the Miss USA pageant, which was hosted by bubbly babe Nancy O'Dell.
