1935 – He was born on the 9th of January in New Rochelle, New York and raised in Brownwood, Texas.
1959 - He landed the role of Maynard G. Krebs on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis this year.
1960-1979 - Married 4 times, he has 4 children from 3 of his wives.
1963 - He landed the role of Gilligan on Gilligan's Island.
1964 – He appeared in the beach movie “For Those Who Think Young” with Tina Louise prior to the development of Gilligan's Island.
1967 - Gilligans Island was cancelled.
1968 - He appeared in other television show “The Good Guys.”
-In real life, he is diametrically opposite of the well-known inept and goofy characters he has portrayed on television. He is an enormously talented, introverted, and well-read man who loves children, especially his own.
1973 - He appeared in other television shows “Dusty's Trail".
1975 - He also starred in a children's program, Far Out Space Nuts which was essentially Gilligan in space.
1998 - He was arrested for having a parcel of marijuana delivered to his home.
2005 - He underwent quadruple heart bypass surgery and he died on the 2nd of September this year.
1980s-90s - He revived Maynard G. Krebs, older but no wiser, in a pair of abortive Dobie Gillis revival pilots and reprised Gilligan in the flesh in a trio of made-for-TV features based on the original series.
