Deane, William Patrick, Sir (Bill)

1931 - Born on the 4th of January in Melbourne, Australia.

1955 - He became member of the Democratic Labor Party in Australia.

1977 - He was appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

         - He was appointed to the Federal Court of Australia and as President of the Australian Trade

               Practices Tribunal.

1982 - He was appointed to High Court of Australia as Governor-General.

1996 - He became 22nd Governor-General in Australia.

2001 - He was awarded the Sydney Peace Prize.
