1826 - She was born on the 7th of May to William B. Howell and Margaret Kempe. She is best known as the 2nd wife of Confederate President Jefferson Davis during the American Civil War. She attended Madame Greenland's school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
1844 - At the age of 17, she met 36-year-old Jefferson Davis.
1845 - She married Jefferson Davis at the Briars, her parents' home in Natchez. Became the First Lady of the Confederate States of America, when Jefferson Davis became the President of the Confederate States.
1861 - They moved to Richmond, Virginia, and lived in the White House of the Confederacy.
1890 - Following her husband's death, she published Jefferson Davis, A Memoir.
1891 - She then moved to New York City to pursue a literary career.
1905 - She died in New York City on 16th of October, aged 79.
