1873 - John William Davis was born on the 13th of April.

1895 - Graduated with a law degree from Washington and Lee University and was elected Law Class Orator.

1911 - 1913 - He represented West Virginia in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he was one of the authors of the Clayton Act.

1913 - 1918 - Became solicitor general.

1918 - 1921 - He was the US ambassador to Britain.

1921 - 1933 - Became the 1st president of Council on Foreign Relations.

1922 - 1923 - Served as president of American Bar Association.

1924 - Democratic Party nominee for President of the United States.

       - Argued record 140 cases before Supreme Court.

1954 - Argued for Board of Education in Brown v. Board of Education.

1955 - John William Davis died on 24th of March.
