Davis, James Robert (Jim)
1945 - Born in Fairmount, Indiana, near Marion, on the 28th of July. He created the popular comic strip Garfield.
1969 - Worked for a local advertising agency and began assisting Tom Ryan's comic strip, Tumbleweeds.
- Created a comic strip, Gnorm Gnat, that ran for five years in The Muskegon Chronicle, a Michigan newspaper.
1978 - On 19th of June, Garfield started syndication in 41 newspapers.
1988 - 1994 - Garfield and Friends was an animated TV series that ran on CBS.
2000 - 2003 - He also created a strip based on the toy Mr. Potato Head.
2004 - The live-action Garfield: The Movie was released to theaters in summer.
2006 - A theatrical sequel, Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, was released in U.S. movie theatres on June.
