1921 – Born on the 7th of May in Berkeley, California.


1942 – Finished B.A at University of California.


1943 – Graduated at Princeton University.


1946-1948 – Served as the 3rd Secretary-Vice Consul, Jidda, Saudi Arabia.


1949-1951 – Became the 2nd Secretary-Vice Consul, Damascus, Syria.


1950-1951 – Served as Consul, Beirut, Lebanon.


               – He was the Consul, Jerusalem, Israel.


1954-1958 – Became the First Secretary-Consul, Benghazi and Tripoli, Libya.


1959-1962 – Served as the Counselor, Baghdad, Iraq.


1974 – Served as US Ambassador to Cyprus.


       – He was shot and killed on 19th of August by EOKA-B snipers during a Greek Cypriot demonstration.  His death came five weeks after a Greek-backed Coup d’etat overthrew the government of Archbishop Makarios and the subsequent invasion of the northern part of the island by Turkey.
