Davies, Benjamin Grey

Studied at the Royal Academy of Music.


1881 – Made his debut in Michael Balfe’s The Bohemian Girl.


1887 – Played the male lead in Dorothy, one of his best-known roles.


1891 – He was conducted by Sir Arthur Sullivan in the latter’s opera Ivanhoe.


1892 – Made his Covent Garden debut in Faust.


1893 – Performed at the Chicago World’s Fair and soon became very popular in the United States.


1943 – Ben Davies died on 28th of March.
