1693 - Born on the 11th of August. He was a French ophthalmologist credited with originating the first significant advance in cataract surgery.

 

Daviel earned his medical degree from the Medical School of Rouen.

 

1728 - He practiced in Marseille restricted his practice to ophthalmology.

 

1747 - Performed the first extra capsular cataract extraction on 8th of April.

 

1762 - Daviel died on 30th of September while on a trip to Geneva, Switzerland.
