1922 – Born on the 17th of July in Barnsley. He was an English Movement poet, and literary critic.
Served in the Navy before studying at the University of Cambridge.
He taught English at the University of Essex, and later at Vanderbilt University and Stanford University.
Wrote Purity of Diction in English Verse, and in smaller articles such as ‘Some Notes on Rhythm in Verse’.
1995 – Donald Alfred Davie died on 18th of September.
