Russian cellist
1838 - Born on the 15th of March in Kuldiga, Latvia, Imperial Russia.
He studied mathematics at St. Petersburg University.
Pursued a career as a composer, studying with Moritz Hauptmann at the Leipzig Conservatory.
1850 - He became a full-time cellist while continuing to compose.
- Became head of the St Petersburg Conservatory.
1870 - Count Wilhorsky, a patron of the arts, presented Davydov with a Stradivarius cello.
1889 - Died on 26th of February in at the age of 51 at Moscow, Imperial Russia.
