1975 – Born in England.


1997 – Received a Bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Southampton.


1997-2006 – Attended the University of Portsmouth and studied under David Martill, eventually receiving his M. Phil. and Ph. D. in vertebrate paleontology.


2001 – Wrote Dinosaurs of the Isle of Wight with Martill.  Named and described the dinosaur Eotyrannus with Steve Hutt and colleagues.


2004 – Named the dinosaur Mirischia with Martill and Dino Frey.


2006 – Started the Tetrapod Zoology blog.


2008 – Published a paper reviewing Azhdarchid pterosaurs with Mark Witton.


2010 – Submitted the poster Sea Monsters and the ‘Prehistoric Survivor Paradigm’ for the 9th European Symposium of Cryptozoology.
