1971 - Earned a bachelor's degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

 

1979 - Graduated Juris Doctor degree in Georgetown University Law Center.

 

1982 - Became a Senior Advisor on President Ronald Reagan (40th President of the United States).

 

1984 - Served as a member of the Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations.

 

       - He served as a Director of Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).

 

1987 - Returned to Indiana and became Chief Executive of the Hudson Institute.

 

1993 - Worked as a Senior Vice-President for a pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly and Company.

 

2001 - Appointed by President George W. Bush (43rd President of the United States) as a director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

 

2004 - On the 2nd of November, he was elected as a Governor of Indiana.
