Danforth, John Claggett
1936 - Born on the 5th of September in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A.
1958 - Received is bachelor's degree at Princeton University.
1963 - Finished his Doctor of Law degree at Yale University.
1968 - At the age of 32, he was elected Missouri's Attorney General.
1970 - Ran for the United States Senate for the first time, but he was defeated in a close race.
1976 - Elected in the United States Senate as a Republican.
1982 - Re-elected in the United States Senate as a Republican.
2001 - Appointed by President W. Bush (43rd President of the United States) to a special envoy to Sudan.
2004 - On the 1st of July, he became United States Ambassador to the united nation.
- He left his post as an Ambassador to the United Nation to become United States Ambassador to Iraq.
