306? – Possibly born near the city of Idanha-a-Nova (in Lusitania, Hispania), the son of Antonius, a priest at the Church of San Lorenzo in Rome.

 

354 – He was archdeacon of the Roman church and followed Liberus into exile.

 

366-383 – He became Pope.

 

378 – Ursinus was condemned and Damasus exonerated and declared the true pope.

 

384 – He died in the reign of the Emperor Theodosius.
