US dramatist and theater manager
1838 - Born on the 20th of July in Plymouth, North Carolina.
1859 - He was dramatic critic for several New York papers and he adapted or wrote a number of plays.
1867 - Wrote Gaslight being his first success.
1869 - Became the manager of the Fifth Avenue Theatre.
Wrote plays "The Red Scarf" 1869, "Horizon" 1871.
1879 - He built and opened Daly's Theatre in New York.
1888 - He wrote Woffington: a Tribute to the Actress and the Woman.
1893 - Established Daly's Theatre in London.
1899 - John Augustin Daly died on 7th of June.
