Dalton, Hugh
1887 - Born on the 26th of August in Neath, Wales, United Kingdom.
1915 - Served as a soldier on the French and Italian Fronts.
1922 - He was unsuccessful candidate for Parliament for four times.
1929 - Elected to the British House of Commons.
- Became a junior Foreign Office minister in the second Labour Government.
1931 - He lost his seat in British House of Commons.
1935 - He was re-elected in British House of Commons.
- During World War II, he was appointed as a Minister of Economic Warfare.
1940 - Established the Special Operations Executive, during World War II.
- Member of the executive committee of the Political Warfare Executive.
1942 - President of the Board of Trade, a cabinet position in the United Kingdom Government.
1946 - He became Chancellor of the Exchequer (a British Cabinet Minister responsible for all economic and financial matters).
1948 - Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
- He was President of the Ramblers' Association.
1950 - Minister of Town and Country Planning in Great Britain.
1951 - He left government after the General Election.
1962 - He died on the 13th of February.
