1945 – Born Meir Huberman in the Soviet Union, the son of Holocaust survivors.

 

1950 – Immigrated to Israel and settled in Bat Yam, a coastal city south of Tel Aviv.

 

1963 – Enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and served in the paratrooper brigade.

 

1967 – He commanded a company, which fought in Sinai.

 

1971 – Dagan was decorated with the Medal of Courage.

 

1982 – In Lebanon War, he commanded the Barak Armored Brigade.

 

       – Served as the commander of the Israeli unit with a connection to Lebanon.

 

1995 – Retired from the IDF.

 

2002 – Appointed Director of the Mossad by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in August.

 

He holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Haifa.
