Dagan, Meir

1945 - Born Meir Huberman in the Soviet Union, the son of Holocaust survivors.
1950 - Immigrated to Israel and settled in Bat Yam, a coastal city south of Tel Aviv.
1963 - Enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and served in the paratrooper brigade.
1967 - He commanded a company, which fought in Sinai.
1971 - Dagan was decorated with the Medal of Courage.
1982 - In Lebanon War, he commanded the Barak Armored Brigade.
- Served as the commander of the Israeli unit with a connection to Lebanon.
1995 - Retired from the IDF.
2002 - Appointed Director of the Mossad by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in August.
He holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Haifa.
