1836 – Born and baptized on September 28th in Waterside, Yorkshire. Crapper was a competent and successful plumber, but his reputation in the history of British sanitation rests on the claim that he invented the syphonic flush.

1861 – Had his own business, which became Thomas Crapper & Co, Marlborough Works, Chelsea.

1910 – Died on January 27th.
