1921 – Born on December 29th in Velika Drenova, near Trstenik, in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (Serbia).
1939 – Joined the communist youth organization.
1954-1961 – Won the NIN award for literature, for Koreni (Roots) and for Deobe (Divisions).
1992 – Was the president of Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
1993 – He was removed from his position for turning against Miloševi .
2005 – Wrote the nonfiction books, Stvarno i mogu e (The Real and the Possible), Promene (Changes), Kosovo and Prijatelji (Friends).
