Cooney, Barbara
1917 - Born in Brooklyn, New York on the 6th of August.
1944 - She met and married Guy Murchie and had two children.
1949 - She later divorced, and remarried Charles Talbot Porter in July 1949 and had two more children.
1980 - She picked the other Caldecott in 1980 for Ox-Cart Man, she traveled a lot, picking up ideas to draw and, occasionally, write
1982 - She won the National Book Award for Miss Rumphius.
1996 - Maine Governor Angus King honored Miss Cooney by proclaiming the day "Barbara Cooney Day". Her last book, Basket Moon.
2000 - Died on the 10th of March.
