1815 – Edward Clark, born on the 1st of April in in New Orleans. He was a Governor of Texas during the American Civil War.

1842 – Moved to Texas and set up a law practice.

1861 – When Sam Houston refused to take an oath of allegiance to the Confederacy, he became governor.

1880 – Died on the 4th of May.
