1960 - Chuck D, born Carlton Douglas Ridenhour on August 1st in Roosevelt, Long Island, New York, is one of the most influential figures to grace the scene of hip hop.

1987 -  He founded the hip hop group, Public Enemy, which radically changed the face of the new, rising genre of hip hop.

1988 - Public Enemy released the album It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. That is considered the greatest hip hop album in history.

1997 - Appeared in the films, An Alan Smithee Film: Burn Hollywood Burn and Rhyme & Reason.

2000 - Became one of the foremost public supporters of MP3 and file-sharing technology, much to the music industry's chagrin.

         - Chuck D has become an advocate of the promotion of MP3 technology.

2004 - Liberal Radio (Air America Radio) co-host.

         - Starred in the movie, Wake Up, Ron Burgundy.

2005 - Appeared in the film Fuck.
