1948 - Born on the 2nd of September in Boston, Massachusetts.

1966 - She attended and graduated from Marian High School.

1970 - Attended Framingham State College in her hometown and graduate.

1978 - Moved to Concord, New Hampshire, when Steven accepted a job as an assistant to the state attorney general.

1982 - She took a teaching post at Concord High School.

1984 - She learned about NASA's efforts to locate an educator to fly on the space shuttle.

1985 - NASA selected McAuliffe for this position on the 19th of July.

1986 - Died on the 28th of January in Space Shuttle Challenger.
