1941 – He was Ernest Evans in real life, he was born on the 3rd day of October this year in Spring Gulley, South Carolina.
1959 - He recorded "The Twist". Bernie Lowe, president of Cameo Parkway records was not initially impressed with Chubby's recording and felt it may be a "B" side at best.
1964 – He married Dutchwoman Catharina Lodders, who had been Miss World in 1962.
1965 – He had a number of hits with dance-themed records into the mid-1960s, but changes in public taste ended his hitmaking career in this year.
1970 – He becomes a staple on the oldies circuit and having a minor comeback as a disco artist.
1980 – During the mid part of this year, it granted him a new lease of fame when he recorded a new version of "The Twist."
1987 – The new version of “The Twist” was released this year.
2000 – He branched out into the snack food business commemorating 40 years of "The Twist" with Chocolate Checker Bars, Beef Jerky, Hot Dogs, and Popcorn, all to be washed down with Girl of the World Water dedicated to his wife.
