1898 - Bennett Cerf was born and brought up in New York City on the 25th of May.

1919-1920 - He received his B.A. from Columbia University and his Litt.B. from its School of Journalism.

1925 - He was the president of Modern Library.

1927 - He founded Random House.

         - He was th 1st president of Random House.

1952 - He was regular panelist on television show "What's My Line?".

1965-1970 - He became chairman of Random House.

1971 - Cerf died in Mount Kisco, New York on the 27th of August.
