1106 - He was born into the noble Bobones family (ancestors of the Orsini family), though he was only a deacon before becoming Pope.
1189 - He subsequently excommunicated the same Henry VI for wrongfully keeping Richard I of England in prison.
1191 - He was ordained a priest on the 13th of April ruled the church six years, nine months, and nine days (though believed to have been about eighty five when elected).
1192 - He confirmed the statutes of the Teutonic Order of Knights.
1198 - He died on the 8th of January, and was buried at the Lateran.
