1927 - Born on January 4th in Kingsville, Texas. American educator.
- After entering the military at the end of World War II, he returned to the United States and attended Texas Agricultural and Industrial College.
1949-1954 - He earned his B.A. and M.A. in zoology at Texas Tech University and a doctoral degree in physiology from Iowa State University.
- He married the former Peggy Murdock, and together they had ten children.
1964 - Cavazos was a full professor of anatomy at Tufts University School of Medicine.
