Castilho, Antonio Feliciano de (Antonio)
1800 - He was born on the 28th of January in Lisbon.
- He became a classical scholar and at the age of 16 published a series of poems, translations, and pedagogical works.
1837 - Castilho gained recognition and became a literary figure in Lisbon.
1838 - He began to collaborate with Almeida Garrett, the leading Portuguese Romantic poet, in the revival of national theatre.
- His romantic narratives of the lives of Portuguese medieval heroes, Quadros Históricos de Portugal, were begun in 1838.
1842 - He took charge of the Revista Universal Lisbonense, a major cultural review.
1875 - He died on the 18th of June in Lisbon.
