1973 – He served as a Deputy Governor General of Sir Milo Butler (Governor General of Bahamas).
1976 – He was appointed Acting Governor-General of Bahamas.
1977 – He was made Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.
1979 – He was appointed as Governor General of Bahamas.
1980 – He was made a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Michael and Saint George.
1985 – He was made a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.
1988 – He retired as a Governor General of Bahamas.
2003 – He died on the 6th of January due to a stroke.
