1953 – He graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a B.A.

1956 – He received his Juris Doctor from George Washington University.

1966 – Casey first sought the office of Governor of Pennsylvania, losing the Democratic Party primary.

1970-1978 – He tried on two other occasions without success.

1987 – He was governor of Pennsylvania.

1991 – He was diagnosed with amyloidiosis.

1992 – He was barred from delivering anti-abortion speech at Democratic National Convention.

1993 – He received heart and liver transplant.

2000 – He died on the 30th of May.
