Carper, Thomas Richard (Thomas)
1947 - Carper was born on the 23rd of January in Beckley, West Virginia.
1968 - He then graduated from Ohio State University, where he was in the U.S. Navy ROTC and earned a degree in Economics.
- He served as a Naval Flight Officer in the U.S. Navy, he saw active duty in Vietnam, flying submarine hunting airplanes.
1974 - He was campaign treasurer for University of Delaware professor James R. Soles in his unsuccessful campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives.
1975 - He remained in the U.S. Naval Reserve for another 18 years and retired with the rank of Captain. Meanwhile he moved to Delaware and earned an MBA from the University of Delaware.
1976 - He was the state treasurer of Delaware.
1983 - He became Representative from Delaware.
