1911 - Born on the 12th of August in Mexico City, Mexico.
1930 - Involved in Mexico City's carpa (traveling tent) circuit, performing in succession with the Ofelia.
1936 - He made his debut in Mexico City's Folies Bergère Theater.
- Married Valentina Ivanova.
1942 - Teamed up with Miguel M. Delgado and Jaime Salvador to produce a series of low-quality parodies, including an interpretation of Chaplin's The Circus.
1946 - Rejected Mexican film companies and instead signed with Columbia Pictures.
1953 - Began performing his theatrical work Yo Colón ("I, Columbus") in the Teatro de los Insurgentes.
1956 - Starred in movie "Around the World in Eighty Days".
1957 - Won the Golden Globe for Around the World in Eighty Days.
1961 - Received Golden Globe Special Award.
1993 - He died on 20th of April because of lung cancer in Mexico City, Mexico.
He has a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame 6436 Hollywood Blvd.
