1960 - He was the first black student to attend an all-white school in Raleigh, NC.

 

1994-2002 - Served as mayor of Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

 

2002 - After his term as mayor, he moved to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where he worked as a practicing attorney.

 

2004 - He was indicted by a federal grand jury on racketeering, bribery and wire fraud charges.

 

2006 - On 10th of March, a federal jury convicted him on three counts of tax evasion.

 

         - Sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Richard Story to 30 months in prison on charges of tax evasion.
