Campagnolo, Iona
1932 - Born on Galiano Island, on the 18th of October.
1966 - She was elected an alderwoman in the city council of Prince Rupert, British Columbia.
1973 - Became a Member of the Order of Canada.
1974 - Ran as a Liberal Party candidate for the Canadian House of Commons in the riding of Skeena.
1976 - Elected Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau recommended her appointment to Cabinet.
1979 - She lost her seat in the election that also defeated the Trudeau government.
1982 - Became president of the Liberal Party of Canada.
1984 - She ran for Parliament in the September election, but was defeated.
1998 - She received the Order of British Columbia.
2001 - Appointed as British Columbia's first female lieutenant governor.
2003 - The Chief Herald of Canada granted armorial bearings to Iona Campagnolo.
