1914 - He was born on the 18th of July in Roermond, Netherlands.
1940 - He graduated at University of Nijmegen.
1945 - He became leader of the Catholic Peoples Party (KVP) in the Nijmegen municipal council.
1950-1952 - He served as State Secretary for Education, Arts and Sciences.
1965-1966 - He served as minister of education and was Prime Minister of the Netherlands, as a member of the Catholic KVP party.
1971 - He Died on the 30th of December in The Hague, Netherlands.
