1875 – Jeanne Louise Calment was born in Arles, France on the 21st of February.


1889 – She was 14 when the Eiffel Tower was completed.


1896 – Married her second cousin Fernand Calment, a wealthy storeowner.


1965 – She signed a deal, common in France, to sell her condominium apartment en viager to lawyer François Raffray.


1985 – Moved into a nursing home, having lived on her own until age 110.


1988 – At age 113, Calment was given the Guinness Records’ "world’s oldest person" title.


1989 – At the age of 114, she appeared briefly in the film Vincent and Me as herself, making her the oldest actress ever.


1995 – Released a French documentary film about her life, entitled Beyond 120 Years with Jeanne Calment.


        – She reached 120 years and 238 days to become the Guinness "oldest person ever".


1996 – The nursing home where she lived released a CD entitled "Time’s Mistress".


1997 – Died on 5th of August, the oldest recorded person dies at 122.
