1825 - Benedetto Cairoli was born on the 28th of January.
1859-1860 - He commanded a volunteer company under Garibaldi.
1866 - With the rank of colonel, he assisted Garibaldi in Tirol, fought at Mentana.
1870 - He conducted the negotiations with Bismarck.
1879-1881 - He served as prime minister of Italy.
1887 - He received the knighthood of the Annunziata, the highest Italian decoration.
1889 - He died on the 8th of August, in the royal palace of Capodimonte near Naples.
