1914 – He resigned as Minister of Finance after his wife Henriette shot Gaston Calmette.
– Caillaux became the leader of a peace party in the Assembly during World War I.
1918 – He was arrested and put in trial for treason.
1944 – He died on the 22nd of November and was interred in the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.
