1912 – He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on the 25th of June.

1929 – He graduated at Camden Catholic High School in Camden, New Jersey.

1933 – Cahill graduated St. Joseph’s College (now Saint Joseph’s University) at Philadelphia.

1937 – He received his law degree at the Rutgers University School of Law.

1937-1938 – He served as a special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

1939 – He was admitted to the bar and began his political career.

1944-1945 – He became the city prosecutor of Camden, New Jersey.

1948 – He was the first assistant prosecutor of Camden County.

1951 – He served as special deputy attorney general of the State of New Jersey.

         – Cahill was member of the New Jersey General Assembly.

1959 – He was elected Representative from New Jersey.

1970 – He served as Governor of New Jersey.

1974-1978 – Senior fellow at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

1996 – He died on the 1st of July in Haddonfield, New Jersey and is interred at Calvary Cemetery.
