1912 - He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on the 25th of June.

1929 - He graduated at Camden Catholic High School in Camden, New Jersey.

1933 - Cahill graduated St. Joseph's College (now Saint Joseph's University) at Philadelphia.

1937 - He received his law degree at the Rutgers University School of Law.

1937-1938 - He served as a special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

1939 - He was admitted to the bar and began his political career.

1944-1945 - He became the city prosecutor of Camden, New Jersey.

1948 - He was the first assistant prosecutor of Camden County.

1951 - He served as special deputy attorney general of the State of New Jersey.

         - Cahill was member of the New Jersey General Assembly.

1959 - He was elected Representative from New Jersey.

1970 - He served as Governor of New Jersey.

1974-1978 - Senior fellow at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

1996 - He died on the 1st of July in Haddonfield, New Jersey and is interred at Calvary Cemetery.
