1912 - He was born in Los Angeles, on the 5th of September, and was of English and Scottish descent.

1931 - John Cage returned to California.

1935 - Cage married artist Xenia Andreyevna Kashevaroff.

1952 - He compose 4'33", whose three movements are performed without playing a single note.

1957-1959 - John Cage's 'Experimental Composition' classes at the New School for Social Research.

1960 - Mary Baumeister's Cologne studio hosted a joint concert by Cage and the video artist Nam June Paik.

1992 - John Milton Cage died on the 12th of August.
