1964 – On 3rd of February, he resigned as mayor of Dallas in order to run for Congress.
1972 – Served four terms in the House before the Republican Alan Steelman defeated him.
1975 – Earle Cabell died on 24th of September.
The Earle Cabell Federal Building on Commerce Street in Dallas is named in his honor.
