1895 - Prescott Sheldon Bush, born on the 15th of May in Columbus, Ohio to Flora Sheldon and Samuel Prescott Bush.
- He was a United States Senator from Connecticut and a Wall Street executive banker with Brown Brothers Harriman.
- He was the father of former U.S. President George H. W. Bush and the grandfather of current President George W. Bush.
1908 - 1913 - He attended the Douglas School in Columbus and then St. George's School in Newport, Rhode Island.
1917 - Served as a field artillery captain with the American Expeditionary Forces during World War I.
- Graduated from Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut.
1921 - On the 6th of August, in Kennebunkport, Maine, he wed Dorothy Walker, the daughter of George Herbert Walker.
1942 - He was involved with the American Birth Control League.
1944 - He was a member of the Yale Corporation, the principal governing body of Yale University.
1947 - 1950 - He served as Connecticut Republican finance chairman, and was the Republican candidate for the United States Senate.
- Served as the treasurer of the first national capital campaign of Planned Parenthood.
1951 - He was also an early supporter of the United Negro College Fund, serving as chairman of the Connecticut branch.
1952 - He was elected to the United States Senate, defeating Abraham Ribicoff for the seat vacated by the death of James O'Brien McMahon.
1972 - Died in New York City on the 8th of October, at age of 77 due to lung cancer.
