Bush, George Walker(George Bush)
1946 - Bush was born in Connecticut, USA on 6th of July.
1961 - Attended Phillips Academy and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History at Yale University. At the height of Vietnam War, he was accepted into the Texas Air National Guard and was assigned in Houston.
1964 - Enters Yale university.
1968 - Graduates from Yale.
1976 - Arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, found guilty, was fined and his driver's license suspended. Bush tried his luck and entered the oil industry in Texas.
1977 - Met and married Laura Welch on 5th of November.
1981 - Father becomes vice president.
1987 - Moved to Washington, D.C. to help his father's campaign for the US Presidency.
1988 - Father becomes president.
1989 - Purchased a share in the Texas Rangers baseball franchise and became the managing general partner of the Rangers.
1995-2000 - Elected as Governor of Texas and his program includes the tort reform, increased education funding, setting high standards for schools and reformed the criminal justice system.
2001 - Elected as president.It was his term that on the 11th of September, attack occured killing alot of people. Declared global war against terrorism, ordered the military assault on Afghanistan. Bush signed the USA Patriot Act of 2001 and the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Bush created a department which he named White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, assisting faith-based organizations.
2002 - Got the approval of the Congress for the Job Creation and Worker Assistance Act of 2002.
2003 - Ordered the invasion of Iraq which violated the UN Resolution 1441. Signed the Amber Alert legislation into law and promoted increased de-regulation and investment options in social services. The Congress approved the additional tax cut sought by President Bush, Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003.
2004 - Bush was re-elected and won the 2004 Presidential Election. During the ceremony wake of the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster, on the 14th of January, he announced a major change for the NASA known as the Vision for Space Exploration. Received a commendation from the National Right to Life Committee for the Stem Cell research Enhancement Act.
2005 - On 20th of January, Bush was inaugurated for his second term. On May 10, 2005, while visiting the Republic of Georgia, a certain Vladimir Arutinian attempted to assassinate Bush.
2006 - Bush appointed Joshua Bolten to replace long-time Chief of Staff Andrew Card. On 15th of May, he proposed the expanding "Basic Pilot", an online system that will be used to monitor the foreign workers. Created the largest National Monument in the history of the United States and the largest Marine Protected Area on June 15, 2006. Signed the Pension Protection Act on the 17th of August, which increases fines for companies that underpay money to Social Security. Signed the bill into law named Military Commissions Act of 2006 on the 17th of October.
Nicknames include W, Dubya, Junior, Bush-43, Shrub, King George and Chimpy.
