1950 - Born on December 23rd in Rochester, Minnesota. American physician and politician.

         - A respected physician of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Lewisville, Dr. Burgess delivered more than 3000 babies in North Texas before heading to Congress.

1972-1976 - He received his B.S. and M.S. degree from North Texas State University, Denton, Texas.

1977 - Received his M.D. from University of Texas Medical School, Houston, Texas.

2000 - Dr. Burgess received another Masters degree in Medical Management from the University of Texas at Dallas.

2002-2003 - Elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Eighth and to the two succeeding Congresses.

         - Congressman Burgess served on the House Transportation and Infrastructure, Government Reform and Science Committees during his first term.

2004-2006 - Congressman Michael Burgess serves as a member of the prestigious House Energy and Commerce Committee.
