Bulwer-Lytton, Victor Alexander George Robert (Earl of Lytton)
1876 - Lytton was born in Simla in British India.
- He married Pamela Chichele-Plowden, an early flame of Sir Winston Churchill, who had met her while playing polo at Secunderabad.
1905 - He was President of the Edinburgh Sir Walter Scott Club and gave the Toast to Sir Walter at the clubs annual dinner.
1919 - He was also made a Privy Counsellor.
1920-1922 - He was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for India.
1927 - He was posted as Governor of Bengal.
1933 - He was made a Knight of the Garter.
1942 - He wrote 2 books, the first being a life of Edward Buller, first Lord Lytton, while the other book dealt with his experiences in India and was called Pundits and Elephants.
1947 - Victor Bulwer-Lytton died.
