1947 – He was born on the 14th day of November this year.
   
1971 – He founded Buckwheat & the Hitchhikers, a funk band that he led for five years before switching to Zydeco and began backing Clifton Chenier one of Zydeco’s legendary performers.
   
1979 – Debuted with “One of the Road” with the band that he set on his own called The ILS Sont Parties Band.
   
1985 – He was nominated for a Grammy Award for "Turning Point" and "Waiting' for My Ya Ya". He soon signed to Island Records.
   
1990 – He was less commercially successful than before, and switched labels constantly. The band remains a popular live draw, and continue recording.
    
2005 – His latest album, “Jackpot” was released on the 7th day of  June this year, on the Tomorrow Recordings label.
